Omni-Directional Helix Antenna with Perfect Circular Polarization

Omni-directional antennas are essential for communication, when the direction of arrival of the transmitted signal unknown. Omni-directional antenna with good circular polarization and larger axial ratio beamwidth is very useful since it provides polarization diversity as well. Helix omni-directional antenna provides 0dB AR in almost complete sphere (4xpi solid angle) when compared, for example, with 3dB AR solid angle of crossed dipole which is only 1.14xpi.
